FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions families ask most before partnering with Parker Place.
Is an estate sale the right choice for my situation?
How do you determine the best selling strategy for my estate?
Every estate is unique, which is why we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. During our initial consultation, we evaluate the home, its contents, the quantity and quality of items, your timeline, market demand, accessibility, and your overall goals.
Based on that evaluation, we’ll recommend the strategy most likely to maximize value and meet your needs. Depending on the estate, that may include a professionally staged in-home estate sale, an online estate auction, strategic consignment, direct purchasing, curated online sales, or a customized combination of these services.
Our goal is simple: to recommend the approach that’s best for your estate—not simply the service we happen to offer.
What if a traditional estate sale is not the right solution?
Does Parker Place offer online auctions?
Yes. Online auctions may be recommended for estates, collections, or individual items that would benefit from broader buyer reach or competitive bidding. Auction suitability depends on the type and value of the contents, the project timeline, and anticipated buyer demand. If an auction is not the strongest option, Parker Place may recommend an in-home estate sale, consignment, direct purchase, private placement, or another targeted selling method.
Does Parker Place provide downsizing and home-organizing assistance?
Yes. Parker Place can help coordinate the sorting and organization of household contents so families can determine what should be kept, sold, donated, or removed. Depending on the scope and location of the project, home-organizing services may be provided directly or coordinated through a trusted professional as part of the overall estate-transition plan.
Why should I hire a professional estate sale company?
A professional estate sale company brings structure, market knowledge, staging, pricing, and targeted promotion to the process. This can help attract serious buyers, reduce the burden on families, and support a more successful overall liquidation.
How do I prepare for an estate sale?
Before the initial evaluation, set aside any personal, sentimental, or family items you wish to keep. Everything else can remain in place. Parker Place will handle the sorting, preparation, staging, pricing, and professional presentation of the items to be sold.
What types of items does Parker Place sell?
Parker Place sells antiques, vintage furnishings, artwork, folk art, collectibles, decorative objects, jewelry, and quality household goods. Our goal is to present each estate thoughtfully while identifying pieces that may benefit from specialized pricing, marketing, or placement.
How do you price items?
We combine professional research with decades of hands-on antiques, estate acquisition, and resale experience. Our pricing approach considers market demand, condition, quality, rarity, and the pace needed for a successful estate liquidation. The goal is to price thoughtfully so noteworthy pieces are recognized while inventory continues to move.
Do you buy antiques or estate items outright?
